MANCHESTER TOWNSHIP, Pa. --
There was some unexpected heat Thursday morning at the Starbucks Coffee roasting plan in York County.
A small, smoky fire started around 7:30 a.m. at the plant in Manchester Township.
The fire happened in a tube-like conveyor system that is used to carry away the after-product of the roasted beans. Firefighters dismantled and flushed part of the system with water to douse the fire.
"There's no real fire loss, no loss to the building or machinery -- basically just kind of a nuisance fire," said Union Fire Company Chief John Stevens.
Firefighters temporarily evacuated the 450,000-square-foot plant. The plant is now operating as usual.
