Explosion Rattles Popular Charlotte Restaurant

One person was hurt.

Investigators are saying that an explosion that occurred at a popular northeast Charlotte restaurant looks like it may have been an accident.

Firefighters were called to the Thai House in the Grand Promenade shopping center at the corner of North Tryon Street and W.T. Harris Boulevard around 10:15 p.m. Wednesday.

One person was hurt in the blast.

Emergency crews temporarily evacuated nearby restaurants and businesses.

Businesses in the Grand Promenade will be open for business today at regular business hours.
