California Family Hospitalized House Fire

Nov. 8, 2005
Fire investigators said a candle left burning may be to blame.

A fire broke out Monday morning at a home in Paradise Hills, and the occupants -- five children and a woman -- were hospitalized, 10News reported.

The fire in the 2300 block of Montcliff Street was reported about 4:20 a.m. and put out 30 minutes later, a San Diego fire dispatcher said.

A 29-year-old woman and five children ranging in age from 3 to 8 were out of the single-family house before firefighters arrived, the dispatcher said.

Paramedics took them all to University of California San Diego Medical Center for smoke inhalation.
