Gwinnett County firefighters were searching for an elderly man Tuesday after a blaze ripped through a three-story home Monday night in one of the county's upscale subdivisions.
More than 40 firefighters battled the blaze at the home, which is located in the 3400 block of Moye Trail in the Sugarloaf Country Club subdivision.
No injuries have been reported but investigators said an elderly man remained unaccounted for early Tuesday. The cause of the fire, which leveled the 8,000-square-foot home, remained under investigation.
"There is significant damage," said firefighter Thomas Rutledge, the department's spokesman. "It is a total loss on the structure."
Investigators said seven people lived at the home although the man who remains missing was the only one at home when the fire occurred.
