ISSAQUAH, Wash. --

A fire destroyed a school bus on state Route 900 near Interstate 90 Tuesday afternoon.

Video from Chopper 7 showed firefighters spraying water on the remains of the bus as it burned along the highway south of Issaquah.

There was no one on board when the fire erupted. Witnesses said they saw the driver, a man, walk away from the bus. Investigators are looking for the man.

Chopper 7 video showed that the fire reduced the front end of the bus to a blackened hulk and left char marks along its windows.

Lt. Dave Augenstein of Eastside Fire and Rescue said it did not appear that the bus belongs to a school district.

Authorities said the blaze could have been an engine fire and they will investigate.
