The search for a missing Malabar firefighter became a homicide investigation Friday after investigators determined a "significant" amount of blood found inside a submerged pickup matches the blood type of Brandy Hall, according to Local 6 News partner Florida Today.

In addition, Hall's husband, Jeffrey Hall, remains a suspect in the case, a reversal from what detectives said Thursday.

"We're looking at everybody as a suspect," said Det. Mark Fell, one of eight detectives working on the investigation.

Brandy Hall disappeared sometime after 10:30 p.m., Aug. 17 after leaving the Malabar Fire Station, where she served as a volunteer.

She last spoke with someone via cell phone at 10:30 that night, although Fell declined to say who that person was.

Her fire-fighting suit -- known as bunker gear -- was found floating in a Palm Bay pond the following morning by a fisherman. Her truck was then found submerged in the murky water.

Fell urged people to "hold out hope and pray and keep their eyes open," that Hall would be found alive. However, after more than a week of searching, the signs are pointing to foul play, officials said.
