The fire spread to three homes in Cambridge.

At least two people were injured and three homes were destroyed after a house caught fire Thursday afternoon.

Fire crews received a call of an explosion at a home at 1441 Elm St. in Cambridge at about 3 p.m., NBC 4 reported.

When firefighters arrived, officials said, they found the home and two neighboring houses on fire. The neighboring homes suffered heavy damage as a result of a gas line that had also caught fire, worsening the blaze.

According to WHIZ-TV in Zanesville, a homeowner was repairing a sewer line at the time of the explosion.

Michelle Lewis, 17, was taken to The Ohio State University Medical Center in critical condition.

A man was also flown to an Akron hospital. His name and condition were not immediately released.
