Ga. Firefighters Rescue Pups Tied to Trees

Aug. 25, 2006
The four puppies would have died had firefighters not responded to a brush fire in the area.

Firefighters save four puppies tied to trees in Lamar County. A brush fire had been set nearby in an attempt to kill the dogs, investigators believe. The puppies, all less than six months old, are now at the Barnesville animal shelter. Firefighters say they found two of them tied to trees with chains, and two other dogs tied up with Christmas tree lights. Firefighters think the puppies would have died had they not responded to the brush fire. The dogs will be available for adoption. A good samaritan paid for them to be spayed or neutered.
