Firefighters and dogs -- rescue dogs, shelter dogs, and some of the firefighters' companions -- finished shooting this week for the calendar's pages. The calendar is part of the Best Friends Animal Society's fundraiser.

"What's great about this calendar, is not only to we have the firefighters and the dogs, but there's also a disaster preparedness page," said Capt. Rick Godinez of the Los Angeles City Fire Department.

The calendar is available by clicking here or by calling 1-800-4LA-PET1. The calendar costs $15.

Funds will be used for programs at the society's six shelters in Los Angeles.
