NEW YORK --
A report Sunday suggests one of the two firefighters killed in a blaze at the old Deutsche Bank building was trying to save his younger comrade.
A story in the New York Daily News reports that firefighter Robert Beddia had about five minutes worth of air left in his breathing tank when he died.
The Daily News quotes a veteran firefighter as saying that Beddia was likely trying to conserve air to share with his fellow firefighter.
Tests on firefighter Joseph Grafagnino's equipment showed his breathing tank was empty when he died fighting the massive blaze on Aug. 18.
