Chemical Spill Creates Hazmat Situation in Pennsylvania

Officials said inhalation sickness affected 27 people.

VENANGO COUNTY, Pa. --

Emergency dispatchers confirmed a major Hazmat situation at Liberty Electronics along Summit Drive in Venango County.

Channel 11 has learned there was a chemical spill Wednesday afternoon at the facility.

Officials said inhalation sickness affected 27 people.

Ten people were taken to area hospitals immediately, while 17 others were sent later to be checked out.

The victims conditions are not yet known.

Liberty Electrons is located near Franklin Area High School. School is not in session until Tuesday.

Hazmat crews and firefighters remain at the scene.
