JACKSON, Miss. --

Fire investigators are trying to determine if a church fire was racially motivated.

Jackson firefighters were called to the Middlebrook United Methodist Church on Maddox Road onTuesday night.

Arson investigator Greg Travis said once the fire was put out, racial slurs were found spray-painted on a front wall.

It's unclear who set the blaze.
