HONOLULU --

Big Island police believe they have solved the case of arson at Waiakea High School last year.

The blaze caused $1.5 million in damage, mostly to the administration building, where school records are kept.

Police determined the fire was intentionally set. They followed numerous leads, including many from callers to the CrimeStoppers phone number.

A detective investigating another case received information that led to four males, police said. All of them are from Hilo, one is 18, the other three are 17, police said.

Police said they have forwarded the case to the prosecutor's office.
