POTTSTOWN, Pa. --

Firefighters battled a four-alarm blaze Monday night in Pottstown, Montgomery County, and won. Firefighters had the blaze under control by 8:40 p.m. Images The fire was reported at 6:51 p.m. at the intersection of Cross and S. Keim streets, a large part of the latter being shut down.

The blaze inside Innovative Machining Technology Inc. quickly grew to multiple alarms. The blaze destroyed an operational machine shop when the roof collapsed. No injuries were reported.

Flames shot 60 feet into the air, and callers told NBC 10 that smoke could be seen rising skyward for miles around.

Officials won't be able to get into the burned-out building until daylight to try to determine the cause of the fire.
