ROSEVILLE, Mich. --
Two-day-old baby Memphis could not wait for firefighters to transport his mother to the hospital to give birth, according to Memphis' mother.
"I yelled for like 10 minutes, but nobody could hear me," said Memphis' mother, Desiree Wetzel.
When firefighters arrived to a house on Perry Street Saturday morning, they said they realized they did not have time to transport 17-year-old Wetzel to the hospital to deliver her baby.
Baby boy Memphis was welcomed into the world in front of family members, friends and firefighters at his mother's home.
"It was crazy, I can't even describe in words," said witness Jeremy Wray.
Firefighters transported Wetzel and Memphis to St. John Macomb-Oakland Hospital in Warren.
Health officials said baby Memphis weighed in at 5 pounds and 14 ounces and was 19 inches long.
