An investigation is underway into a fire at one of the country's largest refineries.
The massive fire started around 2:15 Thursday afternoon at the Chevron refinery in Pascagoula. It sparked when hydrocarbon gas caught fire due to some kind of problem at the facility.
The fire is now out. It took firefighters about two hours to put out the flames.
One person on the scene was treated for heat exhaustion. No other injuries have been reported. The Department of Environmental Quality says no toxins have been found in the air and an evacuation is not necessary.
According to the company's web-site,. the plant processes 330,000 barrels of crude oil every day. More than 1,300 people work there.
