PITTSBURGH --

No injuries were reported in a Wednesday afternoon fire in Pittsburgh's South Side Slopes, but firefighters had a tough time working in that hilly neighborhood.

The fire started at about 12:30 p.m. in a house on Roscoe Street. (See Map)

The home can be seen from the Parkway East and is located in such an awkward spot that drivers may wonder how to even get there.

Firefighters said the closest hydrant didn't work, so they connected a hose to the next available hydrant and had to carry it up the back side of a hill to the house.

Smoke from the fire was visible on one of the Traffic.com cameras that WTAE Channel 4 Action News often uses in its newscasts.

The cause of the fire is not yet known.
