LOWER YODER TOWNSHIP, Pa. --

Several firefighters were stung and at least one police officer was transported to the hospital with serious bee stings when they responded to a car crash.

Investigators said a Ford Explorer veered off of Decker Avenue late Monday and crashed deep in the woods.

The driver, who police are still seeking, left behind an injured passenger.

When police and firefighters responded to rescue the victim, they had to battle a swarm of bees that had been disturbed by the crash.

The victim was also transported to the hospital with undisclosed injuries.

Anyone with information about the driver's whereabouts is asked to call police.
