DEERFIELD, Wis. --

Its a food fight in rural Dane County.

Firefighters from Deerfield and Cambridge are challenging each other to see which department can collect the most food for the local food pantry.

The drive will run until next Sunday, Aug. 19.

Thats when both departments will offer fire truck rides for anyone donating five or more food items.

While its all for a good cause, both departments said they hope to be the winners.

"Sure hope we can do it, said Brian Sack with the Deerfield Fire Department. We just started so I hope we can, hope we're doing well. So far, we've got a little bit, but we need a lot more."

Both fire departments are also accepting cash donations.
