The home of a vacationing firefighter was heavily damaged by a two-alarm blaze early Thursday morning, officials reported.
The fire in the 4700 block of Marlborough Way was reported at 2:48 a.m. Neighbors reported seeing 30-foot flames licking up from the structure.
Fire crews arrived to find that the blaze started in the garage and quickly spread to the attic and front portion of the home.
Damage was estimated at $750,000. A family cat died in the fire, officials said.
