Three-Alarmer Engulfs Texas Strip Mall

An electrical tranformer explosion endangered two firefighters

A fire erupted at a Dollar General store located in an Everman strip mall on Friday.

The three-alarm blaze in the 1600 block of Everman Parkway broke out sometime before 2 p.m.

The fire destroyed the store and damaged at least one neighboring business.

No injuries have been reported.

At one point, an electrical tranformer exploded, forcing two firefighters to temporarily flee their post.

A nearby apartment complex was not damaged.

Firefighters appeared to have the blaze contained by about 2:30 pm.
