It doesn't hurt to have a fire station in the neighborhood.

A fire broke out Thursday afternoon in the basement of a fourplex at 1135 66th St., which is right next to the Windsor Heights Fire Station.

It took firefighters only 20 seconds to respond, but the blaze still caused $25,000 in smoke damage.

No one was hurt. Residents in all but one of the apartments have been allowed to return home.

The cause remains under investigation.
