ATLANTA --

Officials are asking for the publics help after a man attempted to rob a bank on Fulton Industrial Boulevard.

The incident happened on May 4 around 12:30 p.m. at the Suntrust Bank.

Authorities say the suspect gave a note to a bank teller that read, Give me the money. Dont push any buttons. I have a gun. Give me big bills first and no one gets hurt.

Police say a firefighter was also in the bank at the time and his police-type radio began to make noise. The official-sounding noise apparently spooked the would-be robber who then said Thats okay in a nevermind-type way and left without taking anything.

He left in a white van driven by a black male.

Anyone with information about the identity or location of the suspect is asked to call Crimestoppers at (404) 577-TIPS. Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000.
