HAMILTON, Ohio --
A Hamilton firefighter critically injured last month left a hospital Wednesday and will begin rehabilitation at Drake Center.
Chris Gabbard was injured when his boat flipped over during a water-rescue training exercise on the Great Miami River.
He was trapped under water for at least 20 minutes when he became stuck near a water-retention dam.
Gabbard was taken off a ventilator last week and was briefly able to open his eyes, but no other details about his condition have been released.
