BAKERSFIELD, Calif --
Three people were in a Southeast Bakersfield home when a fire started just after 10 p.m. Wednesday.
When Bakersfield City Fire Crews arrived to the home on 1006 Casa Grande St. the fire had spread throughout the whole house.
Three people were inside the home, but were able to escape with no injuries.
Heavy winds helped to fuel the fire, but it did not spread to any nearby homes.
21 firefighters attacked the fire from the roof and the rear of the home. They were able to get it under control within 15 minutes.
Bakersfield Fire Chief Ross Kelly said the fire looked suspicious because there were broken windows in the back of the home.
Arson crews were on scene to investigate.
Authorities say the home suffered more than $150,000 in damages.
