Hazardous materials crews rushed to a Kansas City warehouse Wednesday afternoon when hundreds of gallons of hydrochloric acid spilled.

A container of the acid tipped over at Univar at 2000 Guinotte Ave., spilling about 300 gallons.

Hydrochloric acid is a corrosive and can be very hazardous.

The company evacuated about a dozen workers and used another chemical to neutralize the acid.

No one was injured. Firefighters said Univar handled the situation appropriately.

Univar supplies chemicals to other businesses.
