Two small kittens were trapped in a section of PVC pipe in a home's window well. Owners of the home called the Fire Department, and firefighters went into the window well head first to rescue the kittens
"Thanks so much. I probably would have been crying if no one came," said Zachary Medo, the homeowner's son.
The pets apparently had gotten stuck after a rain storm.
"It was nice, because the kids were real excited that we rescued them," Tinley Park firefighter Eric Peters said. "They're real excited now. They're playing with them."
Both kittens were wet and a little scared, but otherwise in great condition after the rescue.
