Cade One Step Closer to USFA Head
WASHINGTON, D.C.-- The U.S. Fire Administration has moved a step closer to having a new man at the helm.
The confirmation of Virginia Beach Fire Chief Greg Cade now rests with the full Senate.
Cade said Tuesday he has no idea when the Senate will vote on his appointment.
"I'm just waiting to finish the process," he said. "That's all I can do."
In the meantime, the past president of the International Association of Fire Chiefs remains on the job in Virginia Beach.
Late last week, the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee recommended Cade for the post.
On March 15, he told the committee that funding and communications will be among his top priorities.
Charlie Dickinson has been acting USFA administrator since R. David Paulison was tapped to head FEMA.
