BEDFORD HEIGHTS, Ohio --
A restaurant employee was rescued from a fire Saturday.
Officials said that an employee got trapped in the kitchen area of Bobby D's steakhouse in Bedford Heights at about 7:10 a.m.
Firefighters had to break the door down to get to the worker.
Police said if they hadn't broken down the door, the employee might not have survived.
"This gentleman appeared to be disoriented and overcome with smoke, and if it wasn't for the efforts of Jim Kiss and Ken Baylow, we might have had a horrible outcome today. So they should be commended for their heroic efforts," said Lt. Daniel Fritz.
Firefighters from four departments had to help battle the blaze.
