Minnesota Chief Battles Blaze at Own Business

RICHMOND, Wis.-- Officials say a spark may have fueled the fire that destroyed part of a Richmond business this morning.

Richmond Fire Chief Chuck Merten didn't have to far to go when he responded to a fire to his own business -- Richmond Marine and Sports.

He was joined by two other fire departments to battle the blaze at the service Department.

John Arndt is owner of the building and former owner of the business. He says the fumes may have caused the explosion that led the building burn up quick.

He says they are still cleaning up and damage is extensive. Crews were called around 8:30. Cold Spring and Rockville Fire Departments assisted.
