A Hudson woman was treated for smoke inhalation after she was found outside a burning home in Hudson on Friday.

Firefighters were called to the house on Flying Rock Road at about 9:30 a.m. and found a woman on the front lawn. She was taken to a hospital suffering from smoke inhalation, and officials said she is expected to recover.

Officials said the fire was concentrated on the second floor of the house. Neighbors said two parents and three children live in the house, but only the woman was home at the time of the fire.

"Upon arrival, there was white smoke showing from the building and there was a female victim lying outside on the front lawn of the residence," Chief Shawn Murray said. "It appears she was suffering from some smoke inhalation."

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
