Rescue crews have been able to extricate a construction worker who was trapped in a trench at a Summit County home.
The man became trapped just after 11 a.m. on Florida Street in Reminderville. The worker was finally pulled from the trench around 1:30 p.m.
Several area fire departments assited with the rescue. A Life-Flight helicopter is transporting the victim to MetroHealth Medical Center.
A dispatcher said that initial reports said that the 51-year-old worker was 10 feet down and buried up to his waist, but was breathing on his own.
Rescue crews stablized the man and hauled dirt out of the trench in order to free the worker.
