A toddler died in a fire at a Pasadena apartment complex on Wednesday, KPRC Local 2 reported.
Pasadena firefighters said the fire broke out at a complex in the 3100 block of Pasadena Boulevard near Magnolia Drive at about 9:45 a.m.
The toddler's mother was able to get two of her other children, ages 4 and 3, out of the apartment after the fire started.
Investigators said one of the older children might have been playing with a lighter.
The boy was found dead on a bed, detectives said.
The family's apartment was destroyed. Several other units sustained smoke and water damage.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
