Four-Alarm Fire Consumes Pennsylvania Apartment Complex

Officials said the apartment building did not have a sprinkler system.

A four-alarm fire destroyed part of an apartment complex in Springettsbury Township Saturday night.

The apartment complex is on the 2600 block of Carnegie Road.

Firefighters said at one point, 20 apartments were on fire.

Officials said the apartment building did not have a sprinkler system.

It is not clear where the fire started or what caused it, fire officials said.

About 50 residents are without homes and the Red Cross is helping them find shelter.
