New Hampshire House Fire Blamed on Wood Stove

The fire started about 2:30 Saturday morning, and investigators believe a wood stove is to blame.

Fire officials in Walpole said an early morning fire severely damaged a home on River Road North.

The fire started about 2:30 Saturday morning, and investigators believe a wood stove is to blame.

Officials said the two people inside the home at the time of the fire were able to escape the fire safely.

Two firefighters were injured on the scene after slipping on some ice. One firefighter injured an ankle, the other injured a shoulder.
