Michigan Chief Pulled from His Burning House

The chief suffered smoke inhalation while getting his wife and children out of the burning home.

OSHTEMO TOWNSHIP, Mich.-- The township's fire chief remains hospitalized after a blaze at his home just before 5 a.m. Monday morning.

Kenneth Howe suffered smoke inhalation while getting his wife and children out of the burning home. He's listed in stable condition.

Michigan State Police investigators aren't saying what caused the fire at Howe's home on N. Van Kal. They spent most of the day at the home.
