Five Alarm Blaze Burns on Maryland Base

Fort Meade and off-base firefighters were ordered out of the blazing building.
Firefighters from Anne Arundel County and Fort Meade are battling a five-alarm fire on the grounds of Fort Meade. Units were called to the base shortly after 4 p.m. and found fire coming from the third and fourth floors of the 902nd Military Intelligence building. Firefighters have been told to evacuate the building, which has been burning on the verge of being out of control. The building is used for detecting and identifying foreign intelligence information, including possible terrorist threats. One firefighter has suffered a minor leg injury while battling the blaze.
