Authorities in Phillipsburg said three fire departments responded to a house fire on Thursday morning. The fire happened around 9 a.m. at the structure on Poplar Street. Officials said no one was home at the time of the fire. They said neighbors saw flames coming from the home and went to make sure that there was no one inside. Firefighters arrived and manage to contain the flames to the first-floor living, but the entire house suffered smoke damage. The Red Cross is helping the family. Investigators said firefighters from Brookville, Clayton, and Phillipsburg were called to help battle the flames.
