A woman who fell down a cliff in Palos Verdes Estates Monday afternoon is in critical condition.
The 29-year-old Redondo Beach woman was walking down to the beach, on a path often used by surfers, with her boyfriend and another friend. About halfway down, she lost her footing and fell 100 feet into a ravine, her companions said. Her boyfriend said they had a "few beers" before she fell.
When rescuers reached her, she was unconscious, but they were able to stablize her. Then they hoisted her out with a helicopter sling and airlifted her to a hospital.
