WRAL received reports of "thick black smoke" and "raging flames" at the building near a historic feed mill called Atkinson's Mill.

Several homes were also in the area, but residents with whom WRAL spoke said they were not asked to evacuate. Officials said that the wind was blowing the flames away from the home.

There were no reports of injuries as a result of the fire.

Authorities were still investigating the cause Saturday night, but the commander at the scene said it was considered to be suspicious.
