After tabling the vote in two previous meetings, the City Council on Tuesday approved all of Mayor A.J. Holloway's appointments for city department heads.

The council had a seemingly bitter dispute over the merits of the workshops. The votes on the seven directors from positions like legal director and fire and police chiefs was unanimous for all but Fire Chief David Roberts, who was confirmed by a vote of 6-1, with Ward 7 Councilman David Fayard voting against the reappointment.

The council also heard complaints from a citizen about the condition of the West Biloxi Library, which the person said has extensive water damage because the roof has fallen into disrepair. The council said they had already been contacted about the situation and were looking into it. The citizens distributed pictures of the water damage to the council members.

Debbie Kelner, a resident of Oakmont Place subdivision, petitioned the council for a public hearing on the proposed Popp's Ferry Road extension to U.S. 90, which she said would run through her neighborhood. The council took no action.
