LeCLAIRE, Iowa (AP) -- A former Davenport firefighter was arrested as he was going through customs at Chicago, just minutes after he got off a plane from Mexico, authorities said.

Troy Anthony Beaver, 34, of LeClaire, was charged Dec. 8 with five counts of third-degree sexual abuse and one misdemeanor count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Police allege that he sexually abused a 15-year-old girl while the girl was under the influence of cocaine or alcohol that he had given to her.

The acts allegedly occurred from Jan. 3 to March 4, 2004.

He fled to Mexico after the charges were filed, authorities said. He was arrested Thursday night just minutes after he got off the jetliner.

LeClaire Police Chief James Pfeiffer said Beaver was caught because a National Crime Information Center check is conducted on all passengers. Chicago police arrested him as he went through customs.

Pfeiffer said Beaver would likely go through an extradition hearing on Friday.
