ST. JOSEPH, Mich. (AP) -- A fire Friday morning at a condominium complex left one resident dead, authorities said.
Firefighters were called to the scene about 6:40 a.m. EST, Police Chief Mark Clapp said in a statement. Firefighters extinguished the blaze, which Clapp said was believed to have been caused by food left on a stove in a condominium unit.
The occupant of the unit, whose name wasn't immediately released, was found dead inside. No other injuries were reported and the fire, which remained under investigation Friday, was contained to the unit.
