A bus carrying high school students from Belle Glade overturned Thursday, injuring some passengers, officials said.

Some passengers were taken to hospitals and at least one was taken to a trauma unit, said Don Delucia, spokesman for Palm Beach County fire rescue.

He didn't know how many were hospitalized or how many were on the school bus. Officials were working to roll the bus upright, hoping not to find anyone beneath it.

A truck collided with the school bus, causing it to flip over.

The bus was carrying students from West Tech, an alternative high school in Belle Glade, The Palm Beach Post reported in its online edition.

Loxahatchee is 16 miles west of West Palm Beach and 23 miles east of Belle Glade.
