An 8-year-old girl died Thursday from injuries she received in a house fire in north Minneapolis.
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- An 8-year-old girl died Thursday from injuries she received in a house fire in north Minneapolis.

Minneapolis firefighters went to the two-story house at about 9 p.m. and were told there was an adult trapped inside. Instead, they found the little girl, not an adult.

She was brought out alive, but later died at North Memorial Hospital.

The cause of the fire is being investigated.

A firefighter suffered an ankle injury while fighting the blaze.
