ENID, Okla. (AP) -- A fire at an Enid grain elevator injured two people and forced people living nearby to leave their homes, officials said.

Officials with the Enid Fire Department said a fire broke out and ignited a flour-dust explosion inside the Archer Daniels Midland flour mill near downtown Enid at about 12:45 p.m.

The explosion damaged several buildings at the mill. Authorities reported that all the workers have been accounted for and the two injured workers suffered only minor injuries.

Officials evacuated the area near the mill, fearing there might be a second explosion inside an adjacent grain elevator.

Witnesses said the explosion occurred as rail cars were being loaded at the mill. The blast reportedly threw large concrete chucks up to 500 feet.
