(New York -WABC, November 10, 2004 ) -- A popular Harlem restaurant considered a landmark by many has been destroyed by a fire.

The Pan-Pan Coffee Shop was gutted by flames at around 1:00am. It took crews an hour to get the fire under control, but by then it was too late.

The Pan-Pan has been around for thirty years and it was a favorite stop for former President Clinton.

There is no word yet on what may have sparked the fire. Owners of the eatery say they are devastated.
