GAITHERSBURG, Md. (AP) -- It took Montgomery County firefighters 3 hours Thursday to put out a two-alarm blaze at the Bugaboo Creek Steakhouse.
''Complications were caused by the fact there were false ceilings and several layers of roofing,'' said county fire and rescue spokesman Pete Piringer.
The fire started around 5 a.m. at 15710 Shady Grove Road in Gaithersburg, Md. There was heavy damage to the roof and fire officials remained concerned it could collapse.
''The cause remains under investigation,'' said Piringer. Investigators are looking at the exhaust ventilation system in the kitchen as a possible cause, he added. The fire did $2 million in damage.
''Surprisingly the restaurant area remained intact,'' said Piringer. The restaurant area was full of water, he added.
No one was hurt.
