Fast-Moving Five-Alarm Fire Runs Through Suburban Philly Townhouses

A five-alarm fire fanned by high winds destroyed nine homes and damaged two others in a townhouse development in suburban Philadelphia on Sunday morning, authorities said.

All residents could do was watch on a windy Mother's Day morning as a five-alarm inferno leapt from rooftop to rooftop of their Whitpain Township townhouses, demolishing nine units and displacing 17 people, fire officials said.
