A fire broke out along Main Street in Sharpsburg shortly after 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.
Several fire companies were called to battle the blaze.
Officials said a woman came home, smelled something and called 911.
Six firefighters were hurt; five are from the Etna fire company and one is from Aspinwall.
The Etna firefighters were transported to Allegheny General Hospital.
They were injured when a chimney collapsed.
All are reportedly in stable condition. Their names are not known.
The Aspinwall firefighter was taken to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital. His name and condition is not known.
There were initial reports of additional firefighters being injured, but so far all have been accounted for.
